  1.                              Using MultiLIS
  2.  
  3. MultiLIS is menu/prompt driven and is not difficult to use. Use the PF1
  4. key to return to the previous menu/screen.  Press the HELP key or
  5. KeyPad7 key for context-sensitive help. Status and error messages are
  6. usually displayed in the lower right-hand corner of the screen.  Press
  7. the RETURN key to acknowledge these messages.

  9. Title searches:         Type one or more words from the title
  10.                         (order doesn't matter).
  11.  
  12. MultiLIS will display an individual record (if only one record is
  13. found), or a list of titles.
  14.  
  15. Example:        dead zone

  18.  
  19. Author searches:        Always type the author's last name first.
  20.  
  21. MultiLIS will display an individual record (if only one record is found)
  22. or an alphabetically arranged list of authors.

  24. Example:        king stephen

  28. Subject searches:       Type one or more words which describe the subject
  29.                         (order doesn't matter). MultiLIS will display an
  30.                         individual record (if only one record is found)
  31.                         or a list of subject headings containing the words
  32.                         you used.

  34. Example:        american horror tales
  35.                 horror film
  36.                 horror tales;

  38. When searching by author, subject, organizations and conferences,
  39. series, uniform title, or publisher, MultiLIS will usually display a
  40. list of items which match your search. To see the TITLES listed, type
  41. the number or range of numbers. Note that once you have selected items
  42. from this display, you cannot return to this display without redoing the
  43. search.

  47. To see the detailed RECORD for a title, type the number for the title
  48. you want.
